« Climates! » is a project launched 13 monthes ago by retrieving old images of Brittany coasts, sites, people and of course boats. These images on glass plates part of a family photographic collection from 1900 to 1920 illustrate an heritage  100 years old. They are the framework of paintings, etching prints and numeric works. François de Verdière starts from century old images in order to project a possible future in another 100 years if humanity continues its development without changes.

This projection in a worryoing future is a mean to play with blazing colors counterpoint of these old images, allowing for free colored inventions.

Upon completion of digital processing, fifteen themes on 3techniques: canvas that will mix images and painting, copper plates that will allow for etching prints and finally des digital creations.
« Climates! » is photo-painting, photo-engraving and digital works as the projection of cliamte disturbances, transposing very old scenes  of our heritage britatny coasts.

"Climates" will be shown at Galerie Gavart starting April 12th 2010 and in June and July at Cloyes sur Loir festival in the Douy church.

News from the studio

Since beginning of 2010 François' studio is 100% Non toxic! After 13 monthes of efforts and Internet searches, discussing with Non toxic Intaglio, experts ,Keith Howard, Henrik Boegh and installing numerous equipements, the studio is working in etchning and photo-polymeres films  .
